Fundraising Events

Each year MID ESSEX OWNERS CLUB look to raise money for local charities via our social events that we run and previously from the Abridge Carfest Event, which we no longer host.

We have raised money for Essex & Herts Air Ambulance, Great Ormond Street Hospital, St Francis & St Lukes Hospitals.

Our current fundraising will be Lifelites. Lifelites have been donating specialist assistive technology packages for children with life-limiting conditions using children's palliative care services throughout the British Isles.

A Very British Afternoon Tea 25/6/21

Sunday 25th July we held our first fundraiser in aid of our supported charity, The Essex & Herts Air Ambulance. This was helped by the National Cream Tea Society who provided supported charities with jam and clotted cream for National Cream Tea Day.

The event was nicely supported with a variety of cakes, sandwiches, a raffle and a Tombola stall to help add funds to the kitty.

The weather wasn't the greatest but as most people were under gazebo's, it didn't dampen the afternoon.

We are pleased to announce that we managed to raise an impressive £600 for EHAAT which will help keep this worthy cause going. The only sad part to announce was the jigsaw puzzle managed to end up in many hands but ended back on the Tombola stall....

Facebook Fundraiser 15/3/21

We did it! We set a target of £150 on our Facebook page and our wonderful members agreed to donate their membership fees and we surpassed that figure to £241, we all agreed to bump that figure to £500 and we received a nice thank you message from Essex & Herts Air Ambulance's Fundraising administrator Charlotte Evans for the funds received stating, that it would help towards there cause. Thank you again everyone for your input and kindness.

Bingo Night 26/10/19

We had our Bingo night and it was a great night to remember. Members and guests all enjoyed themselves as well as the food that was included with the price of the ticket. The tombola did very well and we are pleased to announce that we raised £250, which will be sent to Essex Air Ambulance.

The event was so popular, that another is planned for early 2020, so look out for updates.

Our 80's quiz night was a great success and helped us raise £450 which goes to GOSH. Thank you for all that attended that night and helped us.

80's Quiz Night 27/10/18

We held our annual fund raiser for Great Ormond Street Hospital which was another successful one. The theme was the 80's and our members did not disappoint with the costumes on display. We even had a glamorous drag act, who entertained us all night.

Halloween Quiz Night 28/10/17

We held our annual Quiz night with a sausage/fish & chip dinner to help raise money for GOSH.

The night was very eventful, considering it was Halloween, as we had a power cut to add to the event but, it didn't dampen our spirits and we helped raise £400 on the night with some members dressing up in costume (well, we think they did?)

Everyone had a great night and all teams did well even though there were some strange answers to the questions!!

Abridge Motorfest 17/7/18

Our own show and it was a very successful one and helped us raise money for GOSH. We had 178 cars attend the show and we raised £390 which will go to this great cause.
